Imaging GFP-tagged proteins during exocytosis

The GFP's and their derivatives can be genetically tagged to proteins of interest to follow their movements during important events. Here we simultaneously image an EGFP-tagged (green) PKC (a kinase known to be important for secretion) with the exocytosis indicator LysoTracker Red. The protein osciallates back and forth to the plasma and granule membranes during exocytosis. The total movie duration is 15 min.
